The Staffordshire bull terrier is one of the best dog breeds of all time, which is why so many folks want to discover how to train a staffy. Still, they stay energetic for much of their lives. Typically staffies will live for at least 12 years, but some have been known to go on for 16 years or even more. This is a good enough life time.

You should always source your dog from a licensed breeder. If you buy from an illegal source you will be supporting people who have no respect for animals. It can be distressing to see animals ill-treated by unscrupulous breeders. Registered breeders have the training and respect that allows them to breed staffies properly.

As you likely know, consistency is the key in how to train a staffy. Whatever you do, don't commence one style of staffy training and then keep changing it. The best system is to use one type of training until your dog completely understands what you are trying to teach it. Do not to teach them some tricks you do not want them to have indefinitely. It can be very problematic to break a habit once it is established.
