Learn About The Blue Mitted Ragdoll Cat

By Rosemarie Harrell

If one thinks that they want to own a blue mitted ragdoll cat then there are some things that they will need to know. These are one of the most favorable cats as far as most people are concerned, having a look that people enjoy. This breed was first created by Ann Baker in the 1960's so it has not been around that long.

There are three different breeds of cats that were bred to create this breed including the Berman, Burmese, and Persian breeds. These cats are larger than some others and very muscular. Their fun is one of the silkiest and very plush and there are no issues with matting and most of the cats weigh in at about fifteen pounds.

When a kitten is first born they will be all white so it can be surprising to owners to pick out a kitten and see them change so much. It is not until they are about ten days old that they start to change colors and have a pattern. The look of the cat can be a complete mystery to the owners as they will continue to change until the cat is between three and four years old.

Since they have so many color variations they are often to thought to be more beautiful. There are many different colors that one might find including red flame, blue point, chocolate, seal, blue, seal point, and chocolate point. All of the cats will have blue eyes.

The colors of their mask, ears, feet, nose, tails, and paw pads can vary as well. The Colorpoint will have a colored version of their paw pads, tails, nose, feet, ears, and mask while the Mitted will have point colored ears, masks, and legs but still white boots, chin, mittens, and stomach. A Bicolor will have a inverted V in the mask, and colored ears and tails with a nose and paw pads that are pink.

A lynx point has obvious markings in the tabby pattern that appear on the face and look like a W. There is also the W torte which will have additional colors but are typically red and/or cream. Owners will find that they really enjoy owning this breed of cat far more than owning any other especially since they are so friendly.

The manners of the blue mitted ragdoll cat are like those of a dog since they are commonly known to do things like run to greet their owners at the door. This is one cat that is sure to please anyone who chooses to own them. Plus they are a great companion for the elderly or children.
