You Might Have A Yeast Infection And Not Even Know It

By Tanya Ramsey

Anyone can get a yeast infection so it is worthwhile to know about the symptoms, particularly if you are a women. Even though all people get yeast infections, it happens at least once to almost all women. The infections occur every year more than once, for a certain number of people. People who have yeast infections are believed to be sexually active, but there are large number of other reasons for getting this condition. A serious condition that needs to have proper treatment is a Candida infection. You will need to look for some answers when you find your yeast infections coming back. Sometimes visiting the doctor to get answers is the only way for finding out about an ongoing medical condition.

Candidiasis, which will cause problems for people numbering in the millions, typically is what the infection condition is called. Rich or poor doesn't matter, young or old doesn't matter, either way the condition can affect you. If you want to squirm a little bit, we will then tell you that this fungus (yeast) lives on every surface area of your body. The good news is that it can be kept in check with a healthy body.

When yeast infection is suspected, many people try to treat it themselves. This can possibly be ill-advised as certain categories of people, such as pregnant women, should only receive treatment from their doctor. There is no guarantee of the treatment working, when you treat yourself, but it doesn't hurt to try for those not in at risk categories. Success does not come all of the time when you are treating yourself, so there might come a point when a doctor will need to be called upon for something more powerful. A woman should know her own body, and realize that vaginal discharges can be unrelated to menstruation, and caused by other medical conditions.

The symptoms of yeast infections for males include a wide variety of possibilities. Relating to sexual concerns, this condition can result in a painful experience or even the complete inability to perform sexually. There may be pain during sex as well as painful urination with a possible burning sensation. A similar type of white and thick discharge from the penis may also occur. Some symptoms will be the same for men and women such as continually feeling tired, lack of energy or digestive problems. One of the problems is that the general symptoms are nonspecific and can be associated with many other conditions.

Pain during intercourse, burning sensation, discharge, or soreness in and around the vagina are all symptoms that can be experienced with vaginal yeast infections. Although a discharge doesn't always happen, it will be thick, white-colored and odorless, when it does occur. A secondary condition, such as vaginitis or vulvitis, might be caused by the infection. Vaginal problems can come from more than one source, such as pain and inflammation coming from yeast infections, but also vulvitis. Treating themselves with home remedies, is something that many women will do, when they find themselves in such situations. To find out exactly what is going on, you will need to be examined by a doctor.

Vaginitis, the inflammation of the vagina is one common condition among women that is nonspecific. This common condition could or could be caused by a yeast infection. There are bacterial infections involving the vagina that may also lead to the vaginitis condition. One type of infection which is completely unrelated to the above would be one caused by a protozoa which is a microscopic organism that isn't a bacterium or fungus (yeast) at all.

There are instances in which a yeast infection could spread in the body and become very generalized in location. This is considered to be quite rare, as it doesn't happen very often. Maybe it doesn't happen that often, but when there is systemic yeast infection, in three-quarters of the cases the person dies. Persistent and reoccurring yeast infections are always a cause for concern as it could be due to more serious medical conditions. If you have yeast infections that keep coming back, it is very important to make an appointment to visit with your doctor. You can get serious complications when your vaginal or oral yeast infections are not treated and gotten rid of.

You should definitely get a doctor to help you if candidiasis has spread to your mouth. It is important to never touch or bother the white areas that are infected. You need to avoid this area because if you touch it, it could cause bleeding to begin. Although this can appear both white and red, this particular type of infection can lean more toward a reddish color. In fact, this particular infection can make it very unpleasant. Always call a physician when this arises.

If you are concerned about yeast infections, as you age, learn more about oral infections. The mouth gets more yeast infections with those who use dentures. Most people probably have yeast infections under their toe nails, but also in skin folds, or women under their breasts, along with other places. Lose weight, get your pH level in the optimum range, keep yourself clean and dry, and you will prevent the overgrowth of yeast in a lot of places. Yeast infections can be treated easily in the beginning, but they should never be left untreated to grow out of control.

Autoimmune conditions can also produce yeast infections, plus there are other diseases that often change the body chemistry and result in infections. Even excessive stress can cause auto immune changes which can compromise your entire system. If you are having reoccurring yeast infections, it may also be because of yeast overgrowth.
