Cavachon Puppy For Sale: Learn Things First

By Angela Barnes

Dogs are pretty simple creatures. As long as they are properly taken care of, they will provide companionship for years without fail. Very loyal. There is always an ad for a cavachon puppy for sale online. One should not take the deal blindly. They should learn a few things first. Like the fact that this is a small but very happy and energetic dog. That he sheds very little and will therefore probably not trigger allergies. Their general temperament makes them wonderful pets for kids.

The standard size is 13 inches and 20 lbs. However, because people like to spoil them they can be heavier than this. They have broad backs and strong bones. Some say that the nose is very important. It should be of an appropriate length. A short muzzle might bring about respiratory issues. Just make sure to ask about this if there is doubt.

This small pup can get into small spaces. One needs to know that the pup will answer when called and will not leave waste in those tight spaces. They are easy to train as they are highly motivated to please their master. They can also hold their focus for a long time especially if motivated with positive reinforcement and rewards. Training can be DIY and used as bonding time with the new pup.

If a dog is not allowed exercise, he will gain weight and become bored. Boredom leads to all sorts of mischief and misbehavior. Therefore, about thirty minutes of outdoor time everyday is ideal. Usually if it is not possible allow play time in the hallway with toys. This should suffice for exercise. This pup does not really need a large space so would be easy to manage in an apartment building.

This pup is a member of the family. As every member of the family is enjoying a well balanced meal so should he. There might be a problem with portioning. Large portions might lead to too much weight and therefore some health problems. Grooming should also be done regularly with brushing several times a week. A monthly bath, at the very least. Nail clipping and such. Maybe even a spa day.

Experts advise that no pup should be sold before it is 8 weeks old. Some authorities require 12 weeks old. The pup should also be fully weaned. All vaccinations up to that point should be administered. Have the seller agree to allow a return within 48 hours if a veterinary doctor does not give the pup the health stamp of excellence.

Consider looking at the mother of the pup. Only then can one gain insight into the temperament of the pup once he is mature. Also ask questions about the mother. This will help one learn just how much vigilance is exercised in breeding.

Microchipping has become necessary. The microchip should be updated with new information. The buyer should be equipped with the new papers. The pup and other animals in the vicinity should be free from fleas.
