English Cream Golden Retriever Puppies

By Debra Gibson

Dogs are absolutely amazing creatures, loyal, and lovable. Golden retrievers are especially clever and well-mannered. Their beauty and intelligence are only some of the many reasons these extraordinary dogs are probably the most loved and appreciated breed. English cream Golden Retriever puppies will make you fall in love on the first sight, and this love is something that will last forever.

Golden retrievers have numerous amazing characteristics. First, they are unbelievably loyal, clever and friendly, obedient and gentle. They surely make perfect family dogs. Their golden coats can come in numerous nuances, one more beautiful than the other. It can be so pale that it looks white, or quite dark. Cream nuances are especially popular. Although they are exceptionally friendly, they will alarm you if someone is approaching your home.

You can teach them just about anything. Their supreme loyalty and obedience, high intelligence and many other positive characteristics are really amazing. They will love you and your family members unconditionally, and they will be friendly to other animals, friendly to other people, friendly to the whole world. They won't become dangerous guard dogs, ever, and it is highly unlikely that they could attack anyone, but they may still be very good watch dogs.

It would be hard to make a full list of their exceptional talents and qualities. Your lovely, gentle dog will certainly excel in competition, can be trained to guide blind people or to become one excellent therapy dog, he can be great in tracking, finding narcotics or hunting. High intelligence and their obedience and a constant need to please their owners make them simply perfect.

Golden retrievers live up to twelve years. Females will grow up to 22, and males up to 24 inches, and their weight should be between 60 and 80 pounds for males, and 55 and 70 pounds for females. This may vary, but you should keep in mind they could easily gain weight, and you have to be careful with their food. Two smaller meals are always much better than one larger meal a day.

They might have some specific health issues, for example, heart problems, or problems with their hips, eyes or different skin allergies. Most problems can be avoided by providing enough mental and physical exercise to your dog, as well as by taking him on regular vet check ups. Take your dog for a walk at least once a day, it will do you both good. It would be ideal if you would have a large yard.

Keep in mind that retrievers shed. They have double coats, and that's why they require daily combing and brushing. In periods when they shed more intensively, it is especially important to brush them regularly. Dry shampoo can be used on regular basis, but actual bathing should be avoided if it is possible. It would be great if you give your dog an opportunity to swim, at least once in a while.

Every dog needs some form of exercise on daily basis, some more than the others. Golden retrievers need long, brisk walks to maintain their health. Although they really are perfectly obedient, if you don't provide adequate exercise, some behavior issues may occur. Dogs require a leadership from their owners, they need to see you as a pack leader. Become one, but gentle, loving one, and you will have a perfect pet.
