The Finest Australian Labradoodle Breeders

By Nancy White

Labradoodles became quite popular in a few latest decades. This lovely dog is a cross-breed between Labrador retriever and a Poodle. There are three size variations of these beautiful animals, depending on which type of a Poodle was used, Standard, Miniature or Toy. Australian Labradoodle breeders mostly breed the largest of these three variations, and this one is certainly the most popular one in Australia.

Labradoodle is one highly intelligent, playful and affectionate dog. He makes an ideal family dog, always ready to play, learn or do anything you want him to do, as long as he is not left alone for a long time. He really enjoys being surrounded with people or other animals and will become friends with other family pets, even with cats.

Of course, early socialization is a must. It's really easy to train this clever and eager dog. He learns new things easy, but gets bored equally easy. If left alone, he might start chewing all kinds of things around him, including furniture. Mental and physical challenges are highly appreciated, and, if interested in something, he will be really nice and responsive.

Dogs used to live in packs, and that's why they need to know who is the leader of their pack. You need to become a pack leader as soon as possible, showing your dog what is allowed and what isn't. Consistency is really important, because if you change the rules, your dog will become confused. So, if sofa is forbidden territory, it has to be forbidden every single day, and not only when you are in a bad mood.

Grooming is quite simple, especially if you decide to take your dog for a trimming now and then. The quality of your dog's coat may vary. Some Doodles have hair type coats, while some have fleece or wool coats. If trimmed, these coats are easily groomed. Hair type shed, and wool and fleece type don't. That's why later types are really good for people suffering from different allergies.

Labradoodles enjoy spending time swimming, running or walking, fetching things and playing. These active dogs are really curious, responsive and generally playful. These characteristics make them simply great friends for you and for your children. Lovely, gentle and affectionate companions, always ready to play or to learn new things.

Find yourself a good, respectable breeder, to make sure your future pet will be healthy and well socialized. Prepare all important stuff before bringing this new family member into your home. He will need a few bowls for his food and water, a nice place to sleep and a few chewing toys. Every dog needs to chew something, and it's better to give him a toy.

Puppies should eat three or four times a day, good quality dog food. They need to have access to a fresh water all the time. Adults should eat twice a day, and the total amount of food will depend on their level of activity. Trimming, occasional bathing and brushing will make sure your dog is always clean and tidy, and at least one good walk a day will keep him happy and satisfied.
