How To Pick A Perfectly White Pomeranian

By Pamela Lee

It would be hard not to like Pomeranian dogs. These small and adorable creatures can be in various beautiful colors and color combinations, and all are just wonderful. But, the rarest and the most appealing are white Pomeranian dogs. Fluffy, soft and lovable, they are also strong-minded and brave, immensely cute, with luxurious double coat and deep, almond shaped dark eyes. Here are some tips for all new owners.

In any case, you really have to be sure this breeder is respectable and dependable. This is the only way to be sure how your new puppy will look like when he grows up. This can be seen when the puppy has at least eight weeks, not before. But you can look for some things by yourself, just to make sure.

First, check the area behind your puppy's ears. If there is only a slight color change there, there is a high probability that this color will be more visible when this dog grows up. Pomeranian dogs have one characteristic you can rely on. Lighter color will become a little bit darker, and darker one will become a little bit darker.

All area such as eye rims, nose, lips and paw pads should be black. Puppies with different shades on their white coats will probably have a little bit lighter skin on these areas. Flawless whites will also have really dark brown or black eyes, and this is another thing you should search for when it comes to your new puppy.

So, you need to find a good breeder, by all means. You want to have perfectly healthy, beautiful pet, and that's why you need to see his parents first. He will probably inherit their physical characteristics, if nothing else. Good behavior is also something you would look forward to, but there are no guarantees that your pet will inherit it from his parents.

When it comes to Pomeranian dogs, especially when it comes to puppies, it sounds strange to try to train them right away. Nevertheless, it is something you should do. Toy dogs tend to become sort of spoiled, they often bark with no reason or behave bossy, if you don't train them properly. Set some basic rules and stick to those rules, Pom is clever enough to learn anything, if he wants.

On the other hand, don't forget how fragile they are. Puppies are really small and fragile, a little clumsy, and they can be hurt easily. Toddlers and small children shouldn't play with puppies, because they could really make a great damage to them. These dogs should be supervised as grown dogs as well, and should not leave the house unleashed.

Pomeranian dogs shed and regular brushing and combing are required. Whites get dirty easily, and having a box of canine wipes is always a good idea. These wipes are really handy when it comes to their eyes. These areas should be regularly cleaned, to avoid darker tear stains. There are also good quality eye drops you can use to avoid this problem.
