How To Create A Suitable Aquarium For Blue Bolt Shrimps

By Karen Jackson

Blue bolt shrimps have a care requirement in order to thrive. They need many places where they can hide in an aquarium in order to feel secured and safe. The tanks should have surfaces where they can forage as well. They have a specific demand in regards to water values and they possess a high sensitivity when the water is bad quality. Even with a little amount of nitrate or ammonia can easily kill them. The nitrates inside the tanks must be kept low as possible. When it comes to extreme blue bolt shrimp, owners should treat these kinds of shrimps with the right quality of water.

Add a few lightings for the plants and shrimps. There should be an appropriate kind of lighting depending on the plants that was chosen. However, make sure that the lighting will not increase the temperatures inside the aquarium. For non planted types, they only require a common LED light. Planted types will need the right lights for the choices of plants.

Select the right tank. Many available options can be chosen for shrimp tanks. Picking out a tank that have ten gallons will make it sure that there is a good space to make them flourish and thrive. Keep always in mind the right size. Ten gallons tanks are more than enough even the population of shrimps are high.

Select the correct filters. Owners will have to know the correct flow rate. Pet stores will often advice the right filter for the structure. The feces made from this species are tiny so having an effective filter should catch it. They can calculate the whole numbers, dimensions and volumes by calculating it from a calculator.

Choose between a non planted or planted set up. A non planted tank requires a lot of attention from an owner because they will have to feed the species themselves. A planted set up will need plants to be included inside the tanks.

To transplant the shrimp into the aquarium, use a net. Carefully use the net and avoid any shrimp from getting crushed. Place the other hand on the top part of the net to prevent them from jumping over the nets. Do not try to catch them by the hand.

Substrates can be purchased through online or on the pet stores. The substrates must at least occupy an inch from the bottom of aquarium. Find a spot where the area is clear so that the species will congregate in that particular space.

Individuals must do research in order to determine the right set up they wanted to have as an environment for the animals. They should the difference between the types of environment and what advantages they have. They should also learn the right foods that the species will require to gain the nutrients they deserved.

Price will always be an issue. Blue bolt shrimp owners must have the finances prepared to purchase the right requirements when raising the species. They should be ready to provide the necessary needs of these shrimps in order for it to survive.
