The Sinusitis Treatment For All Types

By Fredrick Reiley

Once a patient has sinusitis, it means he or she has nasal congestion. When an inflammation in the nasal passages takes place, most likely the causes are infections and allergies. Usually this will be gone within a week but if it persists for more than ten days, then you probably need to consult your physician and ask for the best sinusitis treatment before it will complicate and offer you more sickness and illnesses. It is always better to prevent further damage.

The two main type of nasal congestion are acute and chronic. If the condition persists for a month or less, this is said to be acute, but if it lasts longer than that, it means this condition has become chronic. It is kind of hard to differentiate the two when you base from the symptoms since both will have similar symptoms. Mostly, the length of time and some other medical tests become the basis for diagnosis.

Further, acute sinusitis precipitates or emerges right after an infection in the upper respiratory tract. This infection is caused by either a virus or a fungus. Fungal infections usually manifest in patients who are diabetic and this can cause someone to die. This is why there is a need for thorough diagnosis with regards to the causative agent of nasal congestion to avoid further body destruction. Treatments can be made only if the sickness is known.

The other type which is chronic can last more that three months and the basic symptoms include dizziness, facial pain, coughing, aching teeth, and headache. This type normally precipitates from various diseases with sinusitis as a symptom.

Currently, there is a growing debate on the role of a fungus in chronic nasal congestion. Fungi are found in the nasal cavities of both healthy people and people with sinuses. This is the why, up to present, it is still unclear if fungus is really one factor that helps in the development of chronic sinusitis.

The one that makes it hard for physician to determine what type of nasal congestion his or her patient has is the fact that almost all symptoms are true for both types. Facial pain, headaches, and dizziness manifest in both chronic and acute types. Thus, there is a need for other medical tests to confirm the type.

Other infections include infection in the eye socket that can lead to blindness. This will be accompanied by severe fever and other diseases and illnesses. It is also possible to have infections in the bone of the forehead and the bones in the face. It may also cause inner ear infections because there is nasal congestion. This is manifested through dizziness.

Sinusitis treatment can be made using antibiotics and antiviral since the main causes of this disease are virus and bacteria. If the symptoms will continue to persist after ten days after taking antibiotics, you now have to use both aerobic and anaerobic antibiotics. The natural way is to quit eating or drinking dairy products. After this, you can take in one table spoon of apple cider vinegar in one glass of water. After one week, you will observe that your sinus drainage will drop down.
