By Mattie Knight

F1 Bengals are literally one step away from the wild. These are hybrid cats that began with breeding the Asian Leopard cat, called ALC, with a domestic cat. In the city of Miami, prospective owners can find F1 Bengal kittens for sale FL.

Litters from the first breeding between an Asian Leopard Cat and a domestic cat are classified as F1. The F1 animals have variations of markings and colors, but all bear the distinct markings of the wild parent cat. Given their wild heritage, F1 Bengals are not pets for the average cat lover. There is actually a measure of controversy surrounding the F1 cats. As some vets say, a wild cat is a wild cat, and F1s are not domestic.

All kittens are adorable and the Bengals are no exception. But when your kitten reaches maturity there is some special handling involved. You must really love your cat and want to spend hours playing with the animal. These cats are not aloof and want to play and explore for hours on end. They are prone to excessive marking of their territory, which can be problematic if the owner is not up to breaking them of this habit.

The genesis of the hybrid breed was the shrinking population of the Asian Leopard cat. The original breeder decided to breed the ALC with a domestic cat to prolong the species, even in a hybrid form. The ALC differ genetically from their domestic counterparts. They enjoy an immunity to feline cancer and have passed this along to the F1 Bengal and its future generations. There is research being done that could help eliminate or at least reduce the problem of feline cancer.

You may be surprised the first time your pet jumps into the shower with you. Bengals are natural swimmers and love water. Owners returning home will find their pet will greet them by wildly jumping about and being a bit of a rascal. Some owners find this very endearing. The appropriate owner will love active pets.

With their hind legs longer than the front legs, these cats truly pounce and leap like a wild animal. The animals have small heads and slender bodies with very long limbs. They make excellent hunters and will certainly solve any issues you may have with a rodent population.

These animals require a great deal of human interaction. They want to play with you, not ignore you like some other breeds. If you work long days you will not make a good owner for the F1. Owners who enjoy active play with their pets will love the Bengal. This is a case where the right pet has to find the right owner to have a happy experience.

There are advantages to your F1 kitten. They are excellent self groomers and will not require much grooming maintenance. Your pet will be immune to feline leukemia, which is good to know. For the right owner, the F1 Bengal can be a magnificent pet.
