Effective Ways Of Keeping The Dental Health Of Blue Pitbull Puppies In Top Shape

By Ronald Williams

Dogs like humans require proper oral health maintenance to improve their general health. Surprisingly, most people are unable to maintain the teeth of their puppies clean and healthy particularly if the puppies cannot tolerate brushing. Oral care for Blue Pitbull Puppies comes in different aspects, which you should fully know before you buy any of the puppies. If you do not regularly clean the teeth of your dog, he will develop dental problems such as the periodontal disease and his pearly white smile will be no more. The dental care techniques below will highly improve the oral health of your puppy.

To start with, introduce your dog to water additives. These are odorless and tasteless liquid products you add on the water to eradicate oral bacteria and make the breath of your dog fresher. The enzymes in these additives effectively break down plaque, which acts a favorable ground for bacterial growth. These products also contain natural food products like zinc, vitamin B, vegetable glycerin and colorless beet juice that enhance the dental health of your dog. Conversely, American Canine Association (ACA) asserts that these additives are not an alternative for other oral examinations.

Give your dog raw bones to chew three to four times a week. Raw bones prevent plaque build up and strengthen the teeth roots of your puppy. It is recommended to buy raw bones at the pet stores so that you can choose the ones that suit the age and size of your dog. If you intend to buy them from a grocery or butcher, consider lamb necks and shanks because they are easy to digest.

Dental toys have also proved to be effective in cleaning the teeth of dogs that are not brushed regularly. These toys do not just switch your puppy into a playful mood, but they also remove plaque and fresh food particles that stick between the teeth when chewing them. Some of the materials that make the dental toys include nylon rawhide and rubber among others.

Switch to effective tartar control treats to prevent plaque that usually forms along the gum line of your dog. When the plaque combines with the saliva salts of your puppy, it hardens to form tartar. If the tartar along the gum line is not removed, it weakens the enamel, which protects roots against tooth sensitivity, pain, and other oral illnesses. However, the treats are effective in preventing tartar buildup.

It is also easy to keep the breath of your puppy fresh and his teeth and tongue clean using dental foam products. Besides eliminating plaque that acts as a good breeding ground for bacteria, foams containing baking soda usually whiten discolored teeth. Just pull back the lips of your dog and gently spray it on the teeth and along the gumline.

Poor feeding is a great hindrance to the maintenance of healthy, strong and clean teeth and gums of your puppy. If you introduce your dog to fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables such as carrots, cucumber, parsley, apples, celery and coconut oil, he will be safe from various oral illnesses. A recent research from the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) confirms that coconut oil is rich in lauric acid that eradicates microbes that cause oral diseases.

With the dental care tips above, it is possible to keep the tongue, teeth, gums and other mouth tissues of your puppy clean and healthy. You will eliminate risk factors that cause oral problems of your dog to aggravate and attract increased medical bills. These dental care tips are effective even to a three-month-old puppy.
