By Sandra Wallace

It is every pet owners dream to have a pet that is well trained and has a good command of instructions. Such a trained pet can be easy to handle especially when handling behaviors which tend to pop up in future. Choosing where to train your puppy is not the hard part since you can give him home training or take them to a kindergarten or rather assign them to a personal do trainer. This article provides you with great tips about mountain dog training.

To begin with, start by selecting the type of dog that perfectly suits your lifestyle. Depending on whether you want to relax or you want to be up and around all day. For example, a bulldog will suit you best since this breed likes to lazy around and if you want to relax with your pet. Also, you should consider the age of your children. If they are still young, go for the type of pet recommended for their age.

Naming your puppy goes a long way to determining how fast he is going to learn. Some people tend to give their pets names which they can hardly distinguish. Giving them an easy name will help in having their attention when you need to since you can call and they respond. Therefore, while coming up with your dogs name, try something that is a bit clear while pronouncing. Also, make sure you do not give your pet names that are more than two syllables.

Preparing a schedule is as much important as any other part of dog drilling. As your own pet trainer, have in mind that a pet mostly a puppy would get bored much faster than a pooch. This means that, while preparing the schedule, you should give shorter time intervals for the exercise after which you leave the pet to rest.

Before the drill, you are advised to take yourself through mental preparation before the actual training sessions. These preparations go a long way to clearing your mind of any destruction while on the drill sessions. Also, it prevents you from showing agitation or excitement towards them. This way, you will effectively take the pet through the drill sessions.

There are a number of equipment you may be required to have in your possession while on session. You may not have full knowledge of such so, you need to find out. One way to know this is through conducting a research through the Internet. You can also seek advice from some friends and relatives who have pet drilling experience.

You should have in mind that puppies have a short memory and they tend to forget easily. To reinforce this effect, you have to constantly give rewards to the pet. The purpose of these rewards is to praise the pet for its good behaviors. In fact, they learn faster if you reward them constantly.

The consistency of your teaching goes miles away to providing effective learning. Since dogs are not intelligent enough, they take much longer time to learn and therefore, this calls for consistent training sessions.
