How To Get Rid Of Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are parasites. They feed on human and animal blood. Parasites like the Atlanta bed bugs are commonly found on linens, clothing and mattresses. They thrive well on areas with warm temperature such as bunks and beds as their name implies. They are usually active a night because of their nocturnal characteristic.

There are various health that their bite can cause. Among these are itchiness, skin rashes, allergy and psychological symptoms that makes one feel of something crawling in their bodies. There are a number of ways to treat their bites which is primarily the application of appropriate ointment. The foremost step in keeping your household insect free is prevention. You can do this by routine cleaning and washing of high risk areas and fabric, respectively. It is also good if you let family members enter from a back room where they can change their clothes into clean ones. This is to prevent the bugs from getting inside the house as there is a likely possibility that they would cling to clothes from work and the outdoors.

You can begin by stripping all sorts of cloth covers from furniture and appliances and sending them straight to the lavatory. Wash and soak them in a very hot water. Make sure that you are wearing a durable gloves so you will not get burned. Dry them in a high temperature afterward.

On the cloths that cannot be washed in the laundry, vacuum cleaners are utilized. Toys and sofa pillows are good examples of unwashable fabrics. Seal them in zip lock containers afterward for approximately three days.

Do not forget to burn or throw the vacuum bags after they are used. If there are cracks and openings in the walls, set up a barrier to completely cover these areas like cement or caulks. This will prevent more bugs to get in your household.

Bed and boxes are the favored habitats of these insects. You can replace them by buying a new one or if buying another one is too much for you, you can buy plastic covers instead. The covers should be sealed tightly and put on for at least a year. The absence of air inside the plastic kills the parasites slowly but surely.

Once you are done with all the stripping, washing and covering, you can proceed to cleaning the whole house. It is best to use natural cleaners and sprays to protect the environment. Do not leave any surface and spaces. Once everything is guaranteed clean, you can put the sheets and linens back on. Cleaning gap of ten days using the same process is recommended to prevent recurrence.

Killing Atlanta bed bugs and the likes of them needs a huge amount of effort and will. There are those who cannot stand up to it that they hire exterminators to do the job for them. However, ridding your place off these rascals is something you have the power to do on your own without spending too much.
