Tips For Choosing Pet Bandanas

By Marla Mills

Pet bandanas occur in a wide range of varieties. Bandanas are put on pets for the sheer purpose of fun. It is very interesting to have your favorite animal wear it. The animals themselves enjoy wearing them. Try clothing your pet with one and see how they like it.

Showing love and affection to your pets is really tricky. However, one way of exhibiting your love for your favorite animals is clothing them. Since our kids wear very expensive clothes, it is also kind to buy our domestic animals good clothing as well. Not so many years ago, this practice was regarded as being rather crazy but has now grown quite common.

When you decide to adopt this fast growing trend, you will have to weigh a few factors to consider before buying clothing for your animals. See the kind of clothes the animal appears to love. This can be tricky since animals do not talk. However, their instinctual behaviors will easily tell you what they like and what they loathe. You can for example purchase them a head gear that seems to resemble the kind of clothes you want to buy them. This is a good way to guarantee you that whatever you are buying is not going to be rejected.

As mentioned in the foregoing paragraph, the material used to make the head gear is of paramount concern. Pets are quite playful and most of the time they hop around the fireplace and other similarly dangerous places. Having this in your mind will help you choose the best material that will be both comfortable and safe for your cat or dog. Cotton bandanas are a perfect option because they do not catch fire easily and do not attract much dust. Though silk is nice, avoid it because it is quite flammable and gets easily soiled.

The size of the head gears you choose should also be considered. Bear in mind the size of the head of your animal. Choose one that is a little bit bigger than the head of your dog or cat. This will ensure that it does not get too tight or too loose. Consider taking the measurements of the head of your cat or dog to avoid buying under- or over-sized bandanas.

An excellent way of solving the problem of size is visiting the shop with your dog or cat in tow. This is going to make the entire exercise easy and fun. Before paying for any, first try several on your animal until you come up with one that fits the best. This will eliminate the inconvenience of having to return already bought outfits.

As you try out the head gear on your cat or dog, be keen to observe the reactions of your animal. Though animals do not have the benefit of verbal expression, it is easy to tell how interested or disinterested they are. If after trying the bandana on the animal, they respond by wagging the tail or jumping up and down, then know that they are satisfied with the choice.

Pet bandanas have various colors. Dogs and cats are not very sensitive to colors. As such, the type of colors you go for are majorly your own choice. Go for the most colorful one. Such colors are going to attract great attention.
