When feeding your older pet, the main objective should be to maintain health and optimum body weight, slow development of chronic disease and minimize diseases that may already be present. A balanced diet is critically important to your dog's cellular maintenance, growth, and overall health. Dogs should drink about an ounce of water per pound of body weight daily, and of course, you know to always have fresh, clean water available.
