To Find Pedigreed Siberian Cats Florida Should Be Prioritized

By Pamela Scott

The Siberian cat is also formally known as the Siberian Forest Cat. It refers to a landrace type of domesticated cats. The taiga of Siberia is the origin of the cat. This region is a forested part with a climate that is subarctic. The cat has a long, bushy, protective coat, which is thought to have been resulted because of the subarctic weather. These species has been existing on the Russian subcontinent for more than 1000 years. When one needs Siberian cats Florida offers a good location to visit.

The first importation of Siberians to the US occurred in 1990 and the recognition of the breed by the International cat Association happened in 1996. The breed was accepted by the American cat fanciers Association in 1999 and was followed after seven years by the Cat fanciers Association in the year 2006. The popularity of the breed is increasing at a very high rate because it is often thought to be hypoallergenic.

As of now, it is not well known if Siberians have a hypoallergenic quality. People hold different opinions regarding this issue depending on their own personal experiences. However, researchers are determined to find out if indeed the cat is hypoallergenic. A lot of research is being conducted in different places worldwide to identify the existence of the hypoallergenic quality and to improve it wherever possible. The level of Fel d1 production in Siberians have been determined to be much lower than in other breeds.

Siberians have warm hearts even if they come from very cold regions of Russia. They show people, especially their owners plenty of love. They tend to keep following people everywhere. They also settle down to provide company as one watches TV, reads, prepares meals, sleeps, sits, or does anything inside the home. Thus they are good companions.

The cats wait at the door to welcome their owner home. They show happiness by vocalizing in low tones. The breed is not shy like most other breeds. One can expect they to be present, maintaining they normal activities even when the house has guests.

Siberians are not only loving and attentive. They are also a very active and playful breed. It is common to see them initiate games by bringing the owner a best toy to throw. They like to play with small objects a lot. Thus, it would be a good idea to ensure that jewelry and other valuables away from their reach. They can be taught tricks easily because they are very intelligent.

Surprisingly, Siberian cats enjoy to play with water a lot. This has been thought to be because of their original way of life where they hunted for fish in the water. They may enjoy splashing water in the tubs, drinking from fountains, and making puddles by batting the paws in water. The hunter instincts in them also make them very agile and athletic.

The amount of care needed by the breed is moderate. Tangles and mats should not be allowed to form in the coat. This may be prevented by combing and brushing weekly. Fall and spring are the seasons for shedding hence grooming should also be done more frequently.
