Do not under estimate the need for exercise for this dog, especially if it is kept inside for the better part of the day. The coat of this breed is somewhat hypoallergenic due to it having some genetic inheritance from the Bichon Frise. But then it also has the genetic make up of the spaniel as well, which does not have the hypoallergenic properties of the Bichon. It is always best to test for allergies first before taking on this breed, for not all are hypoallergenic.

The general average lifespan of this dog is around ten to fifteen years. This is impressive for a dog this small. Love and care, and proper nutrition should see the life span be extended somewhat. Also, regular checkups with the vet will also help.
