Facts You Should Know About The Ragdolls By The TICA Ragdoll Breeders

By Shawn Hunter

If you conduct a survey on home pet, you will find out that the dogs and s are on top of the list of domesticated indoor animals. As much as millions of people loved dogs more than felines, there are still people who favored the s over dogs. They are tamed animals which have been kept as pets. Ancient Egypt kept them for pet, just like Cleopatra.

One popular breed that is kept as a pet is the Ragdoll cat. This cute fellow is large, easy going, semi longhaired with charming blue eyes. Although most cats are not very affectionate to humans, this breed is very fond of humans. Just like the dogs, this feline is known to approach and greet you, follow you around the house, cuddle and sleep with you, and play fetch. No wonder why people love them. The TICA Ragdoll breeders have been producing high breeds for many years.

Ann Baker in Riverside, California has bred the Ragdoll feline in 1960. She chose three different felines, the Persian, Burmese, and Birman, to mate with Josephine, the original matron of the modern Ragdoll felines. This is the reason why they have a placid and relaxed nature.

Because it is friendly and gentle in nature, it can live harmoniously with children and other animals. There is nothing to worry about scratches in children because it does not resist when being dressed, played, or carried around. What makes it great is that it is known not to destroy things inside the house.

They are being correlated to dogs because of their chummy traits and intelligence. Once they reach full maturity, the female can reach up to 4 to 7 kilograms. The male can also weigh up to 9 kilograms. You can enjoy their company until 12 to fifteen years.

The feline has four patterns, which make them contributed to their cuteness. When the feline has a pointed patterns have one color darkening at the paws, nose, ears, and tail. If it is mitted, it has the same color with the pointed ones, but it has white paws and abdomen. It also has a belly stripe that runs from the chin to the genitals. The feline with a bicolor pattern has white legs and abdomen, and white V shape of the face. If it has a lynx patter, the feline has dark stripes on its body. The inside of the ear is colored white, while its nose has a brick color.

Taking good care of them is not difficult. It only needs combing at least once or two times a week. It does need regular bathing, only when it smells awful. Brushing its teeth is also needed so that the chance of developing periodontal disease is reduced.

Be wary when giving treats to them. Kidney issues are a dominant problem in felines, so make sure that you are only giving them nutritious treats that are low in salt. You should also bring your pet to the vet regularly to prevent the risk of developing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. HCM can develop during their 6th month. They can potentially die from the ailment in their 3rd year.

Its prices can depend on the pattern and color. If you want to buy one, the breeder can give it to you in its 12th month where its health is already stabilized. For more information, visit the website and see the different Ragdolls available.
