Things To Consider When Selecting Breeders Of TICA Registered Ragdoll Kittens

By Jessica Baker

People buy pets such as cats expecting them to be a source of joy. This might however not be the case if your cat is sickly. Taking care of a sickly cat can be an expensive affair. You are likely to lack peace of mind if you are always visiting a vet because you bought from a breeder who is not reputable. Would be kitty owners should consider purchasing TICA registered Ragdoll Kittens.

Breeders usually determine where you buy your pet. This is why visiting the breeder is the first step in the right direction to buying your kitty. To begin with, go and see where the mother is kept. Breeders should make a point of keeping their cats in a clean and safe environment. Pungent odor from the kennel is the first indication that your breeder is not reputable. Pets should always be healthy.

You should also look at the conditions of the kitties. If they are inactive, it is an indication that something is wrong. Kitties are supposed to be healthy and happy. An unhealthy is not a good deal. You may end up spending too much cash visiting your local vet to treat the pet. A happy and healthy pet makes a happy owner. The reverse is also true.

Cats are known to be some of the most interactive pets. Making sure that the kitty you want to buy is appropriately socialized is paramount. Usually, they may appear apprehensive of meeting you the first time. If on the other hand they are petrified, this is not a good sign. It only explains that they have behavioral concerns.

Underweight and overweight kitties could have health problems in future. You should be keen to avoid cats that could develop health problems because of poor care. One of the things to look at is whether you can feel their ribs. If the ribs are too visible, you can tell that they are not getting enough food. If you cannot feel the ribs that should also tell you that, they are getting too much food.

A responsible breeder should have as much interest in you and the way you will feed the cat, the same way you are concerned about its condition. For instance, they should take their time to explain how you will feed the kitty. They should recommend some of the best foods in the market. They should also tell you the various stages in their growth, when you should change their diet.

Since pets will be interacting with family members and probably guests, it is vital to be sure that they have no parasites. Fleas for instance, can also affect humans. If the cat is uncomfortable or keeps scratching from time to time, that is an indication of fleas. A kitty with fleas could also have other parasites. Running your fingers through their skin will help you see if they have open sores.

Do not choose an overly aggressive kitten. Select one that is friendly and active from the litter. Be sure to have it examined by a competent veterinarian.
