Looking For Registered Holland Lop Bunnies For Sale

By Gary Snyder

Holland lops are breed of rabbits originating from Netherlands and are popular as a pet and show animal. They are the smallest in the lop eared breed and come in many colors classified as solid and broken or spotted. It is necessary for them to be housed in a cage with plenty of room because of their activeness and playfulness.

It is recommended for new rabbit owners to choose this as their first pet rabbit because of the size and temperament. Because of this, a lot of people are searching for registered Holland lop bunnies for sale so they could buy it. Here are some tips in searching in your area for a breeder that sell them.

Start searching in your area for breeders using the internet that are selling them and get their contact information. It is also possible to use the yellow pages and the local newspapers to find one that may have advertisements placed there. List all of them down and acquire more information regarding them to help you choose.

Ask for recommendations from your family and friends if they know someone that sells this breed you are searching for. They might have bought one or know one who did before which they could refer to you. Add those they recommended which are not list yet and get more information about them as well.

Do some background research on them including the number of years they have been breeding these rabbits. This will show they have the skills and experiences acquired from doing this for a number of years. They would not have last this long if they do not know what they are doing.

Check if they breed the ones with pedigree though it is unimportant to have one unless if you also want to become breeder yourself. Having no pedigrees is just fine if they will be bought as pets only or being part of rabbit show competitions. Being part of these competitions only requires you to permanently tattoo an ear number and providing information such as date of birth then choosing a class to join.

The breeder must also be willing to spend a day with you to explain everything you need to know about your future pet. They must be willing to offer a guarantee that the rabbits are healthy and tamed well. If they do not want to entertain your question then they probably are selling ones that are sick and not tamed well.

Pet stores usually sell bunnies more expensively when you compare it to the prices the breeders have on their bunnies. They tend also to place male mature bunnies in the same cage together with females of various ages. Breeding could occur which can result in your new pet to die by having babies while still very young.

Inquire about their prices and compare it with other breeders to determine which of them offers a better deal. Though this is not the only factor you have to consider but only the last one if you have not yet decided using the other factors. And you must properly prepare to have one before finalizing the sale.
