The finch is a fabulous pet and very popular with folks who live in flats, have smaller houses, have other pets or have kids or a mix of all of these. There are many different kinds of finches to select as your pet.
Finches are known to be friendly, active and contented birds so any other behavior might indicate there is a problem with your flying friend. Finches wish to play with other finches so do not call for a great deal of attention from their human owner. They can be finger tamed with patience.
You'll be entertained for hours by these birds because they have a tendency to be quieter yet engaging. They do not cost lots and will certainly provide several hours of entertainment with their quirky small characters. They can be really busy and pleasurable to look at with their singing and happy small voices. They're such unique tiny creatures and fun to have as pets.
They do best in a group that is about the same size bird as they are so avoid larger birds like parakeets or other hard-billed birds that might become aggressive towards the finch as it is littler in size.
Awfully social in nature and they do not mind sharing their cages with other finches so long as the cage is large enough for them to fly and ramble around in the cage. They must have the room to fly from one perch to another with no accessories in their way so do not overcrowd your cages with perches, toys or containers.
They simply need perhaps one toy, a compact branch to perch on, because they love variety and a mirror because they are keen to look at themselves? They like having baths so pampering them once a week is excellent, and they love to roll around in moist grasses so damp dandelion leaves and grasses are a treat when you spatter them around the base of their cages.
