Advantages Of Royal Poodles Over Other Dogs

By Cathy Mercer

Although their names may suggest otherwise, royal poodles are not in actual sense poodles raised in royalties. There is a standard category, which is the one that these fall into, and is the largest in the category. They were originally found in Germany. In the early days they could only be found in three major categories with the largest breed being the standard poodles. The next one was the miniature poodles. These are slightly largest than the toy poodles which are the smallest, and slightly smaller than the already mentioned standard poodles.

These dogs have certain unique characteristics. These characteristics include the relationship between their length from the breast bone to their rump area. This length is usually expected to be similar to that of their height.

They also have unique features on their eyes as well as ears. The eyes are dark in colour. They look as though they are very intelligent dogs, of which it is not a lie either. They have ears that grow to fall over close to the eye level. These ears are also very broad which is a feature that enhances alertness.

The texture of their coat is very curly. These dogs can either be found with a solid colour or a mixture of two or more colours. The ones that have only one colour could be having a white colour. White is the commonest among all. They could as ell be having a sleek black colour, grey and brown among others.. The ones that do not have one colour could be having a mixture of colours like black and white or any other two colours within their colour range. The nose, eyes and rims' colours are determined by the colour that the parti coloured dog has taken. Like the brown poodles with liver coloured noses. The eyes and rims have it too.

These dogs are one of the most intelligent dog breeds. They are mostly used in dog competitions. This is because they easily take instructions. They are trained prior to the competition. Their training is also very simple since the instructions are easily taken in. They then follow what they had been trained during the competition. They know their trainers thus they are cooperative.

They are very nice pets. Their soft coat makes people just fall in love with touching them. This soothes the two parties involved. Their playful nature also explains the reason why most people use them as pets. They do not grow up in kennels like the other dogs but rather are par of the human family. It is only wise that they are registered to a kennel corporation.

There are some dangers health-wise, they come along with the rearing of these dogs. Allergies are one of them. It is natural for them to shed their fur. The presence of the fur in the air could cause hypersensitive reactions to people who are allergic to it.

Finally, royal poodles are also prone to certain diseases. Epilepsy could be one of them. The other could be ear infections. They are caused by the dogs fur that grows and enters the ears. They then trap dust and wax which naturally makes an infection to occur.
