What Makes Bengal Cat So Popular

The Bengal cat have very strong wild look with a gentle, curious personalities, which is their charm among other domestic felines. They are often demanding when it comes to attention which is not like other cats. These breed has some very distinctive traits so research thoroughly on this breed before you choose them.

These are hybrid breeds that became popular recently and resulted from breeding domestic felines with the ALC or Asian leopard cats. The markings on its body such as the rosette, large spots and stripes makes it look like the ALC. Their coats, otherwise known as pelts, can sometimes appear marbled or spotted and if you touch it can feel very smooth and sleek like a satin and under the sun it looks glittering.

The rosetted spots only occur on the back and the sides of the body and stripes on the rest of the body. It also has mascara features, which is the horizontal striping alongside the eyes and foreleg striping. They are usually classified as brown spotted or snow spotted though there are other with a different color.

F4 breeds or those that are four generations removed from the original breed is the one that has a domesticated and gentle temperament. Most of their personality is due to their wild ancestry in which ingrained in them a very mischievous, highly intelligent and very alert. They are animals that like any interaction and they are not aloof like other felines, which ignores everyone.

They very communicative animals and will respond if you talk to them like you are having conversations, but they can be super loud if they want to get your attention. Sometimes they are cuddly and affectionate and often follows you all around the house while you do your chores and they can be taught to do tricks. Sometimes they resemble dogs due to those qualities.

They are also very athletic and hyperactive, which is not great if you do want too much hassle. They can easily jump to huge heights such as climbing doors, cupboards and trees. They are always ready for an adventure and action and will always be there when something happens.

They are also fond of water, which is different for most cats, and they like playing in it, which is a common factor in this breed. Running water is a source of fascination and are not scared to investigate it even if it is in the tub or shower. Though not all are attracted to it, they are usually messy when drinking.

Bengals love their food and eat pretty much anything with the exception of fruits and they will be the first one to get it from the bag. They tend to climb inside the food bag before you can pour it out, and they treat other food in the same manner. Although most people will feed them dry food, giving them wet food is healthy since they are the muscular type of cat.

This type will not just sit obediently on your lap and they are not the type to be left on their own for a long time. If you are always traveling, then a Bengal cat is not the type for you. These creatures create strong family bonds and will be very sorrowful when those bonds break so be sure that you have the will to commit if you want to adopt them.
