Service Dog Certification Is Useful

By Toni Vang

A well-trained dog is a wonderful thing to be around. Their energy is very compatible with humans and is wonderful to be around when humans are there for people. It is not hard to train a canine. They are very eager to please humans and want to learn new things as they are very intelligent. A service dog certification is a wonderful answer to getting this type of training accomplished. Look into getting this and you will find that it has many rewards and the dividends will pay off.

Trained animals that can go into a store and help an owner pick of items from the shelves is really amazing. They are using their intelligence is such an instance and are giving to the human what they were created to do which is to serve. Knowing the basic commands is a good foundation before beginning to set off to know very advanced commands like helping someone get off the floor be giving them their cane in your mouth.

Canines are very smart animals. They have a keen sense of awareness of their surroundings and a keen sense of smell. This can come in handy for those that want to use them for finding people who may be missing or other types of reasons that the police and military use canines in their work.

Learning about this specialty type of animal is very fascinating. They can do so many things. You can do some research to see what they can do and see if you may want to get involved in this line of work and maybe do some service for this cause.

It really does not matter what breed is used for this work. Any breed can do the work even if it is a small breed. Videos have been online showing small dogs doing many wonderful rescue acts just like a German Shepherd or Retriever could do. This can be very gratifying to watch. It builds such a strong relationship between the animal and the human.

Some dogs can do service for people who have Depression or other emotional problems that are passing them. Training is completely different in these instances. It is not as extensive because they are mainly there for comfort and not for physical things like opening or closing doors or getting things off shelves.

If you do get a dog that has this certification, you must have a vest on the dog or an identification card on you displaying the fact that the dog is certified to do this work. If you do not have this information, you may find that you have to do some explaining.

Any nosy questions about why you need the animal for help is completely prohibited. If anyone ever quarried you about such a thing, you can cut them off politely saying that you do not need to divulge personal questions. This is good to remember so try to be prepared if this occurs. Be polite, but assertive with them.
