Things To Know Before Visiting Labradoodle Breeders Texas

By Kenneth Foster

Canines or dogs are one of the most popular pets around next to cats or felines. Their popularity stems from their more active states when compare to cats. Right now while you are in Texas many are suggesting that you take on a pet as a companion. Some may have even suggested a visit to the nearest labradoodle breeders Texas facility. Before you do commit to getting a dog of this breed, do read on in this article for some information regarding it.

Formerly originating in Australia in 1955, the breed was created by mating two sporting dogs, the poodle and the Labrador. Being sporting breeds, the result can be expected to be a breed that is also very active. 1988 saw the beginning of the popularity of this breed due to its claims of having a hypoallergenic coat.

Although it has been around for a while, the breed lacks the consistency that is usually seen in other breeds, in terms of temperament and physical characteristics. It is basically a crap shoot in getting either a dog that is quiet smart and reserved and with a high maintenance coat or one that is rowdy and slow to mature and also having a coat that sheds a lot, or a mixture of these two kinds of labradoodle.

In terms of physical appearance and coat characteristics it is really no guarantee that they will get the same coats as the parent generation. They can actually get coats that are extreme opposites of their parents, being either very mat and tangle prone and high maintenance or one that is fairly easy to maintain.

Due to its fur type, whether it is non shedding or high shedding, the fur needs to be brushed at least twice a week, as most are still capable to some form of minimal matting and tangling. This regular brushing should also include regular nail clipping and ear hair trimming, of at least once a month.

This breed can be termed as one of the friendliest, if not the friendliest breed around. It would be a big mistake in assuming that you can make this breed into a guard dog, for it may bark for while but can actually get friendly with a robber or intruder that just might get into your home. Due to their friendly nature, most first time owners will find them a joy to be with.

This dog is also active much like its cross breed parents, which are after all sporting breeds. They need at least one hour of exercise a day so they cannot really live in cooped up places like small apartments or condominiums. They are generally good to have around children but their zealousness in playing may see your kids knocked around quite a bit.

And finally when you do decide to get this breed, deal only with reputable dealers. Do not go for puppy mill creations or those from irresponsible breeders. In doing so, you can be sure that you will get good bred dogs with fairly stable temperaments and no health issues.
