This Is Why Buying The Egyptian Mau For Sale Is A Good Idea

By Ruth Sullivan

Cats are more loving and affectionate than many put them out to be. They make good first time pets since they are low maintenance. While dogs are very outgoing and it may be easier to make them love the owner easily, felines are more reserved and need a lot of work for the owner to gain their affections.

Cats clean after themselves and are self sufficient for the most part. Yes, getting that Egyptian Mau for sale at the pet shop is a good start if you are looking to learn how to take care of a feline. The name Mau is literally the Egyptian word for cat.

Cats vary in personality, just like how people are different. The Mau is popular for their loyalty and friendliness that is why they are more fun to deal with. Compared to other cats these ones are not as distant and aloof. They have the tendency to get close to people especially if they have been in with them since kittenhood.

This breed is an active bunch and are very curious and playful. If preference suggests lesser energy for playtime then get a feline that is more sedated and reserved. The Mau is the breed that can leave the owner with scratch marks and lost toys. But this is all in pure affection and love.

Maus are territorial and want to be a part of the family. They can be possessive of their favorite person and they show it by hanging around the same area as that human. There will be shoulder riding and noisy meowing as an early alarm in the morning. The Mau is agile and is the type to perch themselves at the highest points of the house.

The Egyptian Mau lives for about nine to thirteen years on average so there is enough time to get attached to the creature. These are heavily muscled, strong, exceptionally agile breed of felines. This breed is moderately sized with the males being bigger than females. Bonding with the pet can be as relaxing as just petting their fur. They like that a lot.

Minimal grooming by the owner is required when it comes to these felines. Brush their teeth, cut their nails and clean their ears. Like previously mentioned they play a lot and may like to scratch, affectionately, of course. Also brush their teeth with a vet approved toothpaste. It is best to start grooming the cat when they are still kittens so they get used to it, growing up.

Trips to the vet are vital during the early years. This is when the vet deworms and spays the feline. Spaying can also remedy some personality deficiencies the feline may have like over aggression and wandering. Vaccinations and rabies shots are also required by the law. Annual check ups are advised to make sure the pet is healthy.

Caring for a cat can subtly change the life of a person. Sooner or later cat owners realize that a good amount of money end up getting spent of toys and food. Admittedly, it is worth the companionship and love that the creature provides. Also, Maus are the perfect pet for those who cannot be bothered to go out of their way to walk an animal outdoors.
