Taking into account that this breed was created really for outdoor farm work it will not handle indoor living as well as the English or French bulldogs would. When you do decide to get the bully type of this breed, be prepared for a lot of drool or slobber so it might be best to keep them outside a majority of the time. In general however, this breed sheds fairly moderately as it has a short and smooth coat.

This breed will live around ten to sixteen years on average. They tend to live very active and healthy lives but are most prone to hip dysplasia, cherry eye and bone cancer. They are also prone to allergies so it is best to keep in touch with your pediatrician regarding upkeep and maintenance.
