How To Choose A Good Australian Labradoodle Puppy

By Roger Martin

Human beings over the years have been domesticating some animals because of their social nature. Different people have different tastes and preferences regarding the kind of pets they domesticate. Some like cats others choose dogs. Some breeds of dogs are chosen for security reasons because of their aggressive character. Puppies, on the other hand, are mostly kept for pleasure rather than utility. When picking an Australian Labradoodle puppy, the following should be considered.

Though pups might be of the same breed, their characteristics will differ. Some puppies are not so playful. Getting a puppy that is energetic maybe adorable to some while others may prefer a pup that is a bit dormant. This will depend on your personal lifestyle and general character. A growing family with young kids may prefer an energetic whelp.

Adopting a pup that is sickly or has some abnormalities can greatly increase your expenses. Such a pup will need medical checkups more often making you spend more time at the office of the veterinary. To avoid this, examine the various body parts of the pup like the eyes and ears. When you see any abnormalities do not acquire that particular pup.

When the pups are small, it is hard to distinguish between male and female. However, this can be done by counting the number of small raised circular marks on their bellies. Female and male whelps behave differently. Generally, female pups tend to reach maturity faster than male pups. Depending on your tastes, it is important to be precise on the gender you prefer. This way, you will get an animal that meets your needs.

Training of the whelp will be something to consider before choosing. If you can train the puppy, then do not mind the kind you choose. Most people do not have the time and proper knowledge to train a whelp. Thus, they find it convenient to get a pup that is already trained.

The size of the pup will depend on the age and the genetic makeup of the parents. Puppies that are heavier with regards to weight will probably come from parents that are heavy. The height also differs depending on the parents. When choosing the pup, you can ask the breeder to show you the parents so that you are certain that you are getting your preferred strain.

Choosing a dog from a responsible breeder who took care of the puppy is important. A pup from a good breeder will be healthy than the one chosen from a breeder who is just money oriented. A good breeder who cares for the puppies will be glad to show you the facility where the pups are kept. The breeder should be able to comfortably answer any question you ask them.

Last but not least, the labradoodle has fourteen different shades of color. Some have multiple colors in their hair while some have the entire body covered with one shade. Choosing a color that suits your taste is important for attraction and easy bonding. The knowledge gained from reading the information above will help in choosing a pup that will make your life more interesting.
