If you are looking to get a new family friend, one breed to consider is Ragdoll kittens. They have beautiful blue eyes and their coats vary in shades but always are soft. This cat has a semi longhair to them. They are known for just laying there kind of limp when they are picked up.

There temperament is very gentle. They also are great around children and other animals. If you have a dog in your home now, they will not cause any conflict. Most of these felines will get to be heavy once fully grown.

It is usually a better idea to get your kittens from someone that has bred this breed before. This can ensure you are getting a good quality kitten that has no other mixes of breeds to them. This will keep you from getting major health issues that are known for mixed breeds. Not only can you spend a great deal of money on medical bills, but it can lead to you losing your new family member. A shelter is an option if you do not have the money to spend on this type of cat. Some are given up when an owner can no longer care for them. If you are not going to breed or show the cat, a shelter cat would make a great choice.

Many reputable breeders are out there and can be found using the internet. It is best to stay away from free boards online as there are unscrupulous breeders that place as many animals as possible for sale without knowing if there are health problems. Look at websites that have feedback from previous buyers.

There are different color variations on this cat. The colorpoint will have a darker shading to the facial area, tails, hind quarters and ears. Mitted have the dark torso areas. The Bi-Color mimics the Pointed but with the majority being high white.
