Locating Urns For Pet Ashes

By Lolita Jacobs

When you lose a pet, it can be like missing a part of your family. You can find options for retaining your pets ashes upon cremation by selecting urns for pet ashes. You can find some funeral parlors that perform these special services as well as offering a human cremation.

You do not have to purchase them only at a crematorium, but can find them over the internet as well. You can choose something basic like a non decorated box up to a very nice urn. Most can have personalization added to them. Check to see if the parlor you will use offers the option of bringing your own container or if you are required to purchase from them.

If they do not allow outside vessels, you can see what they offer. Many offer different styles and price ranges, so it should be easier to find something special, or significant. If you are adamant on using your own you have picked out, then search around for a location that will allow you the option of your own urn.

When a pet dies while in the care of a Veterinarian's office, they are able to give you a name to call to make arrangements. If they pass somewhere else, you can still see if their regular Vet will have someone to refer you to.

Some crematories will send the ashes home with you in basic box or bag. You can then find something more suitable of your choosing. Look on the internet for urns for pet ashes to see what you can locate. These searches can be narrowed down to the type of animals and even size of pets. You will be able to locate something special within your budget.

If getting the container engraved, inquire into the extra fees for that. This includes any photo etchings of the pet as well. Check on any time delays for personalization of your container as well.
