What To Know When Considering Cockapoo Puppies

By Kathryn Neal

Today, when looking at dogs, many people are interested in learning more about hybrids. While all dogs have a common linage, most of the AKC recognized breeds have long blood lines leading the dogs to be known as a pure breed. Cockapoo puppies are one of the newer hybrid lines that have grown in popularity. These dogs are cheerful and confident. They are also intelligent and affectionate making them easy to train.

If the family has children, these patient dogs are often a wonderful choice. They have the energy to keep up with the kids. Like their parents, they are available in several sizes and coat colors. They also take after the poodle in shedding very little hair, making them a good choice for allergy sufferers.

With the right training, the innate positive traits found in these animals can be enhanced even more. Before bringing a new puppy home, the future master will want to learn the basics of dog training. Puppy kindergarten and obedience classes can make a happier dog.

One of the few negative aspects of these dogs is their ability to become bored due to their intelligence can lead to some bad choices. Owners should start training early to prevent these choices. Left alone, they can become destructive and show other unusual behavior, just by trying to entertain themselves.

Owners must realize that these little guys are very sensitive to their owner's emotions. It is best to avoid showing distress, anxiety or disappointment in their presence. If an owner is in a pessimistic mood training should be skipped for the day. When showing an upbeat and encouraging attitude it is easier to get much more done.

House training of one to these smart little dogs is very easy. In fact, most owners claim them to be the easiest of all pets to provide this training. Begin with basic crate training and most of these dogs pick up the right habits within just a few short weeks.

While canine obedience classes are important at a young age, the new pet may also benefit from agility and other classes as well. These little dogs are bright and energetic. They love solving puzzles and mastering tricks. Activities such as agility development or obstacle coursework can prevent many problems. In addition, they benefit from the regular social interaction with other dogs and people.

Cockapoos are happiest when everyone attempts to keep emotions in control. Families that are screamers or who argue a lot can pass the tension and emotions on to the pet. For a happier puppy, it is advisable to wait until everyone's emotions are calmer before adding the new puppy to one's home.

Cockapoo puppies are intelligent and loving animals for companionship in the home. They are able to sense the emotions of the owner. They often add a pleasant and happy member to add to the family, but their intelligence means they need to be kept busy to avoid destructive potential. They thrive in many types of homes, especially those where emotions are kept in balance and fights are kept to a minimum. The happy puppies will provide free tail wags and licks to their owner or anyone else in the space.
