Top Remedies For Natural Flea Control

The occurrence of fleas can be a nightmare to manage especially where the numbers are allowed to proliferate. Treatment will need to include the washing of pet and human bedding in a mild detergent. A vacuum and preferably steam cleaner should be applied to the carpets to remove eggs and larvae that would otherwise result in a re-infestation. If the entire home is experiencing an infection, there may be reliance on an insecticide that is naturally based and developed to treat the property.

A lemon spray serves as an effective repellent with a large number of products often containing citrus as a result of it natural properties. Once can prepare the mixture by cutting a lemon into quarters and pouring boiling water over the fruit to settle for overnight. After 24 hours, pour the solution into a spray bottle and cover areas such as the ears, underbelly, legs, and tail base.

Rosemary has become a favorable choice for a dip and is best used in the spring and the summer when flea numbers proliferate. Rosemary leaves should be boiled in a pot for approximately 30 minutes where it can be strained and later used. One should simply pour the cooled mixture over the coats of canines and felines while working through to ensure it reaches the skin.

Brewers yeast may be selected and added to pet food. The purpose for using the substance is to make the skin areas less appealing for fleas and therefore less likely to remain on animals and bite. It is important to discuss these solutions with an experienced vet to ensure that it is compatible with the needs of your four legged friends.

A large number of companies are also releasing organically based product ranges that are free from harsh chemicals and include herbs that serve to repel fleas and other pests. For the health and well-being of your pets it is important to utilize ranges that are free from poisons and are gentle for problem skins.
