By Marcie Goodman

The African grey toys are a bird's species known as parrots. Though they exist in three different types, they all have the same level of intelligence and body size. These birds are magnificent creatures that are adorable and fun to hang around with in every sense. Most homeowners will find these birds to be delightful pets when kept at home.

Their social interaction and ability is without doubt similar to humans. This is because they interact perfectly with people and have the ability to learn new tricks on a daily basis. Since they are curious pets, they need attention and training for them to mimic human character and perceptions. The training process is rigorous and requires a lot of patience, especially when the person has no experience in dealing with the birds.

Due to the high levels of intelligence, these birds need a supply of motivating toys to play with. Having more than one toy is essential in keeping these creatures busy. The toys play a vital role in boosting their memory, giving the creature the ability to be smarter in understanding concepts and activities. Keeping the gadgets they play with in constant motion is good in capturing their attention.

For a better emotional and mental state, allowing the pet to interact with members of the family and other birds is a wise ideal. Releasing them out of the cage helps in flexing their wings within the house. This helps in boosting their moods. Their cages are supposed to be strategically positioned within the house so that the birds can have a clear view of what transpires at home. This ensures the pets feel cared for and not neglected.

Owners are advised to pay close attention to the type of materials used in making the toys. The best and safest materials should be paper, wood or rubber. The items ensure the pet finds it easy to chew on. The exercise makes the pet busy and promotes healthy and beak development. Having a strong beak is important for feeding.
