A sad and very unfortunate fact is that a large number of dogs are put down each day for some excuse or the other. Another thing that is true is that, more than this is the number of dogs that are abandoned; wither on purpose or by unkindly fate, each day. The above fact applies to almost all breeds of dogs that you can think of. However sometimes, some groups such as Vizsla rescue groups can make a huge difference to how these dogs are treated.
Of course not every Vizsla is lucky enough to be rescued by such a rescue group, but sometimes miracles do happen, and even these dogs can get a second chance. However it is a fact that most of these groups do not have the funds to stay in business, so they need to look out for funds to stay in business apart from searching for stray dogs to help.
This seems to be very unreasonable but this is how the things go on in real life, and most of these groups understand that this is how they would have to work. If you have ever owned a Vizslas you would understand how attached and loyal these dogs are to their masters. If this is touching for you, and you do think about the large number of dogs that have been rescued by the Vizslas rescue group, then you also can do something to help them.
Vizsla groups are always in need to both monetary and non monetary assistance. Just take a look at your own well adjusted Vizsla dog and imagine that if the dog were to be lost or abandoned in a kennel or left all alone, what would happen to it, and then only can you understand why there is a need to help these groups. Wouldn't you like it if these Vizsla dogs had the best care they could get in these Vizsla shelters?
Also you need to understand what would happen to the Vizslas staying at a shelter if the shelter was to close down? Obviously this may not be of any concern to you and you might not be able to do a lot for this kind of a situation but you can surely help out in your very own way. There is nothing sadder than watching a good Vizslas dog languishing in a shelter.
And if there is nothing you can do to help these groups monetarily, then the least you can do is point someone looking for a Vizsla to one of these Vizsla shelters. This way you can help more and more abandoned Vizsla's get new homes and owners.
