There are Many Benefits With Cat Enclosures

By Dawn Riley

Cat enclosures have got too many advantages to discuss in one article. The most obvious benefit for your cat is it definitely will reduce his or her's exposure to threats to their safety. Cat enclosures or cat runs don't necessarily indicate your cat can never run free around the back garden again. They just provide safety for your cat if you are unavailable to keep track of her. On your days away from work it is wonderful and relaxing to stay with your cat while they play free inside the garden.

Cat enclosures might be considered something like a nanny for your cats. Whilst you're not watching out for them they're getting safely looked after and you may have peace of mind. A large number of cats enjoy sitting outdoors on summer nights and peering out there into the night. They are able to manage this from the comfort of their enclosure whilst you're calmly sleeping in the knowledge that they're not getting preyed upon.

For anyone who is handy with tools perhaps you can possibly build your own cat enclosure. Nonetheless you can find companies that can offer this service. What ever option you opt to go be sure you check the enclosure with regard to escape routes prior to leaving your cats alone in it. Cats can be experts at performing Houdini manoeuvres and getting out through gaps you may probably not even detect. In addition the foot of the outside walls must be buried deep plus folded inwards in order to prevent cats digging under and out.

All cat runs will have to have the obvious such as water and a litter tray included. Make sure, if food is to be put in enclosures then it is ant proof. You need to ensure the ants cannot get near the food. This is done very easily by simply putting the food in a container which then fits into a larger container containing water.

Outside cat houses are ideal if you have a timid cat. If you provide little cubby houses for your cat to sit in they can hide in them and feel safe. Importantly though they can experience the outside and peek out from their hidey house without others seeing them or going near them. It is preferable to place the enclosure away from a lot of noise so there is peace and quiet for your cat when they are in it.

If you have young children the cat enclosure can provide some much needed solitude for your cat. If children have access to the enclosure be sure to provide high perches for your cats so they can remove themselves when they need time out. Remember this is meant to be your cat's safe haven.
