USB Motion Sensor: A Good Means To Obtain A Motion Sensor For Your Business

By Dominggo Patayon

Do you have a need for an outdoor motion sensor? Maybe you have a broken device like a motion sensor light, motion sensor sprinkler or alarm and you need replacement parts. Are you working on a project that requires motion detector sensor? If you do, then you come to the right place. Here you will find information where and how to find the right sensor for your needs.

Finding a device that involves outdoor motion sensor is easy, they are available in most electronic and hardware stores. In fact, you can order and have them delivered in front of your doorstep through online shops like Amazon and eBay. They are available in wired and battery-operated with many different variations to choose from depending on your needs.

On the other hand stand alone outdoor motion sensors are a bit hard to find especially if you don't know where to look for. If you have a broken sensor from a motion-activated device and you need a replacement for it, then you will find it hard to get one. Usually when any part of the unit breaks, you will have to replace the whole unit and the manufacturer don't usually supply a replacement sensor.

If you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy and you have good experience in working with control equipments including sensors, and Programmable Logic Controller or PLC and you need a motion sensor for your project, you can avail them in industrial electronics suppliers. These products are used in automation and robotics applications in industrial plants. They are made for precision and reliability thus making them very expensive.

Another source of motion sensor is the commonly available motion activated devices in hardware stores. If you want to make an automatic door closer, you can just get the sensor part and use it as a trigger for the actuator you want to use to open a door. It can be a pneumatic valve if you want to use a pneumatic cylinder as the actuator, or a power relay if you want an electric motor to move a sliding door.

Heavy duty sensors like the ones used in industrial plants are available in some companies that sell industrial control devices like relays, timers, sensors, PLC and etc. One good example is Omron which specializes in industrial controls. Other companies that sell similar products include Siemens, Festo and Allen-Bradley. When purchasing, you must consider the range, input and output type of the unit and read the specification carefully to make sure that it meets your requirement.
