One may be able to verify the authenticity of the certificates by contacting those organizations responsible for their release.

People may request for the credentials of a clergyman. These credentials should have the signatures and the seal proving their legality. Ordination certificate that do not have the seals and signatures may put one in trouble with some state laws.
