Innovations in Hog Farming

By Lianne Derocco

For the past years, you may have witnessed a substantial increase in hog farming innovations. These are definitely triggered by the desires of farmers like you who wish to see better productivity in the future. However, it is not just improvement in production that you may be interested in. You may also want to make sure that your hog farm operates without in any way contributing to environmental degradation, especially if it is a large one. You may have seen how big farms could pose such a threat to the environment. Now, however, there are already many ways of making a hog farm very productive while at the same time contributing solutions to energy problems as well as to those of the environment.

It must be pointed out though that there are some solutions that a hog farm could provide to deal with certain issues related to the environment. Instead of electrical energy being almost solely reliant on fossil fuels, the waste coming from hogs could serve as an eco-friendly alternative. Actually, there are already a good number of studies that confirm this. In fact, there are entities that have already succeeded in making use of hog waste as sources of energy. These biofuels have proven to be effective and yet safe for the environment.

There are already a number of breakthroughs in countries that have economies based on livestock farming when it comes to the tapping of hog waste as electrical energy source. In New Zealand, for instance, hog farms have become virtual power plants by taking advantage of the biogases that they continue to produce from the waste of the hogs. In fact, it is already normal for farmers in the country to receive commendations for the innovations that they have introduced particularly in this field. They have encouraged thousands of others to follow their footsteps.

However, even as hog waste has provided people with fuel alternatives, the farmers themselves have to deal with issues such as top-level crusting and sludge in the waste pit or lagoon. Fortunately, there are already solutions for these issues as well. Before, such answers are chemical-based, which would only prompt new problems instead. Now though, there are many natural products that could prevent crusting and sludge. Farmers must come to familiarize themselves with such natural products if they are keen on preventing waste lagoon problems.

Choose only natural products as solutions to crusting and sludge. By doing so, you would be able to avoid recurring problems. You should try Agra Sphere and Agra Sphere LGT because these are definitely effective. These natural products are good in getting rid of foam. Aside from this, these are also very powerful deodorants for the hog farm. More importantly, these are capable of increasing the energy output of waste lagoon.

There are also other products that hog farmers should try, such as Activator Plus LGT, Compost Plus, and Activator Plus. Because these are made of natural enzymes and bacteria, it is quite obvious that such products are not chemical-based and are non-toxic. These prevent crusting and sludge while keeping the farm safe for both hogs and humans.
