By Angel Dudley

Going back home from a hectic day can become better if you have a wet nose and wagging tail waiting for you. The happy greeting of your four legged friend is unparalleled. There are many dog breeds recognized today. Two different breeds can be mated to produce a third breed which is known as a cross breed. Many hybrid dogs are not much in demand. But the demand for a good Goldendoodle breeder shows that the demand for this cross breed is great. The adorable nature of a golden retriever mixed with the panache of a poodle, produces this popular cross breed which is also called Groodle. The breed details of this dog can make you want this breed even more.

Keeping a big dog at home can be a lot of work. The size of your home can also determine how suitable it is for a big dog. Keeping a dog like the Groodle in a small home can be problematic for the dog. They may not be large but their one or two feet frame needs space to move. The breed weighs between fifty to ninety pounds; this can be another factor as to why congested apartments are not good for this breed.

Many people do not want to keep a dog since they dread the day that their beloved pet might no longer be with them. The Groodle life span is between ten to fifteen years this means that you have a long time to spend with your pet. At the same time your pets life span is in your own hands.

People with dog allergies prefer dogs with short coats. If you want a short coated pet then the Groodle is not the dog for you. Since both the original breeds are long coated dogs, the Groodle has long lustrous coat. It is shorter towards the head and snout.

Coat color of most Groodles is golden, which is inherited from the golden retriever side of the parentage. At times the color of the coat can vary. Uncommon coat colors include red, cream, white, copper, black and grey. These uncommon colors are even more in demand that the usual golden coated dogs.

If you are looking for a family dog then the Groodle can be the best pet. They go very well with other pets and are affectionate and tolerant towards children. Even under extreme conditions the breed does not get aggressive. This can be both good and bad. If you want your house to be guarded then get a security system, but the affectionate Groodle is a welcome addition.

Even though they are not aggressive they are still good as working dogs. Their intelligence and acute sense of smell allows them to take up many jobs. The job of a Seeing Eye dog and even a sniffer dog is often granted to Groodles.

The breed does not inherit too many genetic defects. They need to be taken care of like all other dogs but they are not prone to any health issues. Even if your puppy is prone to any health problem a good Goldendoodle breeder should be able to point it out. It is best to know about the puppy's ailments before you take it home.
