Allergy sufferers also covet this crossbreed for its coat type and personality.

Prospective buyers should look for breeders only after they do a detailed investigation of the background of this designer dog breed. Currently there are different types of Labradoodle puppies on sale. But, time has altered the products on the market. A consumer will now find more generational and breed mixes. The variety of choices available can perplex uninformed buyers.

Learning about the Aussie Doodle history is a useful place to start. The origins of this crossbreed commences with Wally Conron in Australia, who first created the Doodle. In the curse of his breeding efforts some litters fell below expectations. After he left the business, a NSW veterinarian, Kate Shoeffel took up where he left off. So did Beverley Manner of Rutland Manor and her daughter who later started Tegan Park. Litters from all three programs in Australia have made their way to the United States.

Anyone who has interest in this crossbreed, should explore the two main Aussie varieties available today. The main variants are Aussies bred in America and those bred Australia. Before a puppy is selected there should be no confusion about what one is looking for.

The buyer should begin by 1st choosing the breed mix. Then a buyer should look into the range of generational mixes and decide which one appeals. In considering these options, size and hair color variations will need to be taken into account. There are three sizes available. These sizes are medium, miniature and standard sizes. There are actually many color shades to consider. Cream, chalk, caramel, gold, red, black, blue, lavender, silver, chocolate, parchment, cafe, phantom, abstract, parti, sable, multi patterned and brindle are the basic shades available today. Analyzing the differences will ultimately limit the options being considered.

The first generation was identified as a F1 generation. This was the result of a cross of a pure Labrador Retriever and a pure Poodle by Conron. The next cross was an F1B generation from an F1 and a Poodle pairing. Aussie Doodles are an F1B paired with an adult of any generation or an F1B crossed with an approved parenting breed. Approved parenting breeds are Irish Water Spaniel, English or American Cocker Spaniel, Curly Coat Retriever, in addition to the original breeds.

The Aussie doodles are distinctive from past litters as their bloodline is not restricted to Lab or Poodle bloodlines. They are the results of dedicated plans to create a pure breed. The key distinction between these and the initial crosses is the greater consistency in coat, temperament and full body traits. As breeding has evolved, two different types of fur have appeared in the offspring. Discerning customers will find there is now a wool or fleece coat variation available. Wool is most effective for those who are seriously allergic. A diligent vendor will permit a customer to test hair and dander samples for suitability.

The ALAA registry in Australia and the ILA registry accept this hybrid. Both are trustworthy sources of help for baffled buyers. To remain clear of any regrets, only trusted breeding programs of Australian Labradoodles for sale in Indiana should be approached.
