How Do I Stop A Dog From Whining

By Harriett Dederick

Owning a pet is a big responsibility. You may think there is nothing to it but that is not the case. A pet needs as much love, care, and attention as a person does. In fact, sometimes it needs more attention because it does not communicate with us in our language. They often communicate with us through habitual sound, and certain movements that were caused by our actions as well.

If you are a dog owner, you will find this animal to be one of the easiest to care for in the sense that caring for it is a lot like caring for a person. It requires the same medical attention and requirements, food and shelter, and training.

Just as the dog gets to know you, you too will understand and know your dog as well. Dog sounds are typically a dog's main way of communicating. Whining is the softest and the most influential of its sounds. A lot of intelligent dogs know that this is the sound to make when it wants its owner to do something for him. Though this may sound a bit annoying at time, dog whines should not be ignored because these can also be genuine language.

A dog makes different kinds of sounds for different reasons and the most commonly used sound is the dog whine. A dog can whine out of fear and anxiety. It can whine out of pain. Knowing which whine your dog is using will come with familiarity. And just because a dog knows how to get around, it doesn't mean you should leave it at that.

It is important to note through all this that there is always a reason why a dog whines. Finding out this reason and then addressing the sound is a good way to tackle this situation.
