Dog UTI is a common condition that has attacked the world's dog population for some time now. What do you know about urinary tract infection in animals? Simply put, this sickness is caused by bacteria ingested through contaminated food and water. The harmful organisms penetrate the blood stream and infect the other internal organs. It is not a fatal disease but if you do not do anything about it will cause health complications after a while.

Yes, it sounds like a bad thing but fortunately, there are ways to prevent and treat them without having to break the bank. Effective home remedies for dogs with urinary tract infections are safe, cost-efficient and more importantly, can be done by almost anybody who knows how. Exercise wisdom and consult the vet first before you undertake any form of treatment. You never know if your pet has a condition that will be worsened when you commence on certain therapies.

So what are these home remedies for dogs with urinary tract infections? Because UTI is caused by dirty food and water, you must make an effort to make his living condition as sanitary as possible. Clean his bedding often and sanitize the area he stays in. Anything that keeps bacteria to a manageable level is a good thing.

Ply your dog with distilled water to cleanse out his system. Do not use tap water; it may contain chemicals that may further complicate his health. Escherichia Coli is a germ that is usually attributed to UTI, but positive straphylococcus, coagulase, proteus mirabilis, klebsiella, esterococcus and pseudomonas also cause infections.

Other than water, citrus drinks are helpful in taking out bacteria in the canine's body. Apple cider vinegar is another common remedy used by many because of its high acidity content.

This will neutralize the bacteria in his urine. Drop half a teaspoon of this to his water and look for improvements in his urinating practices. The most obvious symptom of UTI is when the canine is dehydrated or is always urinating. This is usually indicative of the beginning stages of some sickness that merits immediate medical attention. Visit the vet for an accurate diagnosis. If urinary tract infection is said to be the cause; then do what needs to be done to cure it.

Dehydration is another indication of an error in his internal functioning so check with the vet for the correct diagnosis as soon as you can. Cantharis, Uva ursi, Berberis Vulgaris, Staphysagris, Juniper berry and Golden rod are some remedies that your vet might recommend to cure dog UTI. They are natural tonics that are better than chemical medications that have substances that will harm your pet. Take these dietary supplements together with a nutritional diet and enjoy seeing your dog live out a quality life with you.
