Canine obedience training is simple when you use these ideas

By Alfred Obi

A dog is considered by many to be a the best friend of man, but training a dog is completely different from loving or caring for one. Just like anything, learning the correct tips and techniques to train you dog will make your dog better behaved and more pleasurable to be around. This article contains several sound advice on canine training.

While training your little dog or dog to use a crate, introduce him to new concepts slowly and steadily, so he is able to adjust to the changes without feeling stressed. If they are uncomfortable with the door closed then attempt to feed them snacks to assure them that they're okay. Only keep the gate closed for short periods at first and increase time slowly. If they get distressed, it is too fast.

Do not expect too much of your dog, too fast. Puppies will be puppies. That is what makes them so lovable. The key to coaching them to act suitably, is consistency. Be consistent in straight away reinforcing good behavior and ultimately, your dog will get the message. Do not expect them to become totally trained overnight.

Ensure that your dog's crate is the right size for him if you're going to use it to train him. Puppies will get larger. Select a crate that your puppy dog can grow in, but won't grow out of. Your dog needs to have the room to get around the crate and not feel cramped.

When trying to train your dog, always brace positive behaviours even when you are not actively in a training routine. It's easy to don't forget to reward your dog in a training session, but it's just as important to reward your dog for those trained behaviours the rest of the time, as well. This builds a good connection for the dog between the behavior and the reward.

Confirm your dog's diet is applicable for him. If your dog is a lazy dog who likes to lounge around all day, you do not need to give him the protein-rich food a dog who herds sheep would receive. This may cause Problems and high vet bills down the line.

As this piece has discussed, looking after or coaching a dog can become a superb experience. But the dog training process can be a challenge if you're not privy to the proper systems to employ. Apply this article's advice and you'll be on the right track to training your dog the right way.
