When choosing a particular type of animal, you always have to consider its breed. The process of choosing must depend on certain factors such as the characteristics and traits that you want to have. There are so many of them but you really have to select the best that can work well for you. They may be small but they should be intelligent and active.

The animal should not be very lazy. As much as possible, you have to let them spend their time with you, playing and walking as a type of exercise. Both of you can also go to any park and be surprised with his or her willingness to enjoy the time with his master. If you are a dog lover, you must choose those with good qualities considering their overall importance. You must choose a playful, good, well bred and those that can move around freely. No one wants a lazy type so consider some important points when choosing. There are certain guidelines that should be followed.

Another is the energy level. It must depend on the activities involved. They must avoid being too active or lazy all the time. It also depends on the kind of breeder that is available. You have to choose a responsible breeder because it surely will reflect to the kind of animal that they will have.

The body framework must be excellent as well. It should be smaller and other physical features have to be considered. They should not be too large for their kind. Everything has to be totally balanced in terms of their body form. The muscles and bones should be fully developed as well.

Check the structure of their ears, it must be shaped well and not folded. It must not be floppy or pricked as well. It all depends to the type of breeder or the breeding program applied. They need to take care of the pup well for it to grow exactly as its breed.

Find out if their ears are perfectly shaped. It must not be pricked or floppy. If it is then consider other breeders because usually it is their fault why some do not possess the exact features that you want them to have. The jaws must not be undershot and their coat should be moderate in length and should be fine as well.

When it comes to determining the correct color. It must not contain lots of variations when they are still puppies. They can have a solid red or black or both with other markings but not pure white. Nevertheless, avoid those that were not bred well because it may cause problems in the future. You have to avoid it to happen.

Never be fooled by those who claim that they are real and pure especially when it comes to shepherds. Research the features that will determine if they are true or not. Always be mindful to the considerations especially when you buy one since it involves money. You have to remember the guidelines stated to avoid getting the wrong type.
