Toxic Foods Your Dogs Should Avoid

By Gabby Gibbons

As we all know, dogs have no problem about what they eat. If there is something lying around on the floor, they will snarf it right up whatever it turns out to be. Well, you might not think that there would be a problem with that, but dogs aren't just playing around with your discards. The stuff you leave around can kill them.

Dark chocolate, or baking chocolate, for example, can actually be really deadly to your dog, despite what other people might share with their animals.

Onions are something else that all dogs should steer clear of. Some chemicals inside onions might be fine for you or I, but for dogs it can be poisonous.

Garlic and mushrooms are another two hazards to a dog. Especially garlic can become a toxic compound on the inside of a dog.

Now, most dogs can consume seeds without any ill effects. But when it comes to apples, the seeds are a little more dangerous, and can even be fatal to a god.

Another potentially deadly situation can involve poultry bones, such as those from chickens or turkeys. These bones are hollow, unlike those from cows or pigs. That means they are brittle and can shatter in a dog's mouth. If that happens, the bones can leave sharp points that can cause serious damage to the inside of a dog's body.

A dog is liable to eat just about anything it can get its mouth around. That doesn't mean that you should let it. Keep your trash up and out of the dog's way. Also, you should do the same thing with your own food to keep it away from your dog.

Keep your dog safe. Keep the trash and junk out of the way. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to avoid deadly repercussions for your or somebody else's canine companion.
