Five worthwhile reasons why you should try your cats out with a cat bed

By Joe David

Felines can be incredibly fussy - as you possibly know already if you are a cat person. For some mysterious reason pet cats can turn their noses up to the most expensive food from the supermarket, a really awesome toy you've got them or a scratching post even though they adore ripping up your carpets and rugs at home!

If you've already recognised that - the chances are you think "Should I bother buying them a cat bed?"

Many would quickly conclude it is a valid question. But there's also several great reasons why it is well worth purchasing your pet a new cat bed. Here are our favourite 5:

To start with it can help develop a quiet spot, extra cosy for your cat. We all like a bit of personal space when we've had a hectic day and pets are the same. Once they've had enough and want some room, let them locate an extra pleasant location to relax - with a snug cat bed to help them relax.

If your cat has a preferred area in the house - like in an extra room or on your bed for instance, try putting a cat bed there to ascertain if they like it. Eventually you can move it from your bed but keep it in the same room to wean them from your place to rest!

Next, it provides a permanent place for them to sleep. Felines typically love to unwind in the same locations as we do - on the bed, on the furniture and around the dining room table are some examples.

Yet after all; it can be rather irritating when they are resting on top of your bed regularly. So offer them a spot all of their own so they will stop doing it (all of the time anyhow) in the future.

Number 3 - It's more tidy than using duvets and soft cushions for them. Some people like to use spare quilts, duvets and cushions to construct make-shift resting points for their cats, but it doesn't look especially beautiful when you have guests over.

Getting your feline a new cat bed enables you to give them something comfortable without compromising on taste and the look of your home.

Fourthly, you can make a cosy escape for them outside the house. A cat bed can be used in a private place outdoors, like in a shed, garage or greenhouse for instance, to provide your feline an outside alternative escape if that's their thing.

During the summer months, you can also move their favourite bed out to the garden so they can relax in style.

My 5th motive is to make them extra comfortable and warm - with a radiator cat bed. They'll love being able to get up on it, as its over the radiator, and it will keep them nice and toasty in the winter time.

And that's it! Five convincing reasons why you should purchase a lovely new cat bed. For a buying of 10 to 30 pounds, you can give a specific spot that is extra comfy and out of the way of your own sleeping space for your favourite cat.
