Once the ball is formed, he should imagine now that a small beam is shooting out of the ball and to the animal. When the bond between the human and the animal has already been created, then one should now try to see if he can feel some of the feelings that the animal has. He should already be able to tell if the animal is feeling happy, sad, or angry. Once he is able to feel this, then it means that he may actually go to the next part of the process which is talking to it.
Now for the questions, he may ask them in his head or he can say it out loud depending on what he feels more comfortable with doing. Now the answer will usually come in a form of a mental image or probably a small voice in his head. Take note that he will not get the answer immediately as animals do take quite a while to communicate.
