It Is Easy To Find Some Tiny Toy Poodles For Sale

By Nelda Powers

When you hear of tiny toy poodles for sale, the first thing on your mind is probably not how long it will take to train and care for a dog. It is probably more along the lines of "how cute"! You shouldn't get all caught up in the cuteness, though. There is a lot more to taking care of a dog than you would imagine. It takes quite a bit of time and patience to create an ideal pet.

If you have lots of time and the ability to give a lot of attention to a new pet, a puppy might be right for you. There is a lot of work in raising a dog, though, and if you don't consider how it will affect the animal, you may be better off with something else. House breaking, obedience training and play time should be considered as well as the fact that dogs are a social animal that requires attention.

Obedience training is another thing to consider. Nobody likes a dog that isn't well behaved. There is almost nothing as annoying as a badly behaved small dog. Having a dog that isn't mindful is obnoxious and can even be dangerous for the people around you or to the animal itself. A dog that doesn't mind its owner can become aggressive. Also a dog that doesn't listen can bolt into the road and become roadkill. Nobody likes hitting a dog and nobody likes having their dog hit.

If you don't have an assertive attitude with your dog, its pack mentality can lead it to think that it is the alpha animal in a social group. This will lead to a dog that is pushy and demanding. Often, owners don't understand why their dog is constantly barking. Sometimes this is because the dog is bossy, it's as simple as that.

Small animals can make great pets too. A hamster or gerbil can be a great companion that is entertaining to watch and rewarding to keep. They are contained in their cage and can be given all sorts of toys and things to play with. They don't have as much companionship potential as a dog or cat but can be affable and warm hearted.

The process of acclimating a pet to its new home can be a long and difficult one. It is often a good idea to take time off from work and stay home for a few days in order to make sure that the animal is comfortable. It can make a difference of quite a bit in the long term.

The safety of a small dog can be easy to guarantee if you adhere to a few simple rules. Keep them under supervision while outdoors. Use an assertive but friendly attitude while training them. You must also feed them appropriately to avoid digestive or weight problems.

"Tiny toy poodles for sale" can be too tempting a thing to turn down. Think about what you are getting into, though, before you go out and buy one. If you have lots of time and effort to spend, a dog can be great. Other animals can be considered though. Cats and small mammals can make great pets. Cold blooded reptiles and amphibians might be the way to go too, as they are low maintenance and easy to take care of.
