By Coleen Torres

Sometimes it seems like fleas are invading the world today. They are a nuisance to humans and the pets too, such that they cause irritation to human skin and animal fur. The chemicals induced or applied on to the animals; dogs and cats in most cases may be toxic to the pets themselves. Fleas are becoming resistant to the chemicals thought and produced by scientists with the aim of eliminating them. Natural flea control therefore aims at providing safe and dependable means to eradicate the growing flea populations in our homes and in the environment around as most especially during flea seasons.

Fleas are mostly found on pets and breed in moist areas around our homes such as on the floors, cracks and walls. They have an extraordinary capability to live in the house for up to two years. Within this long period of time, they lay eggs that gradually grow in to larvae and then adults and the cycle is perpetuated leading to an overwhelming number of them. When chemicals known to deal a major blow on the are applied, they only manage to suppress and kill adult fleas living the eggs intact. This makes eradication of these animals virtually impossible.

A major step towards the control of these animals is by ensuring the hygiene of the pets. Give your pet a regular bath using soapy water which is unbearable to fleas. To get them from the fur of your pet, regularly brush your pet. This significantly reduces the possibility of your pet having any flea infestation.

A proper diet boosts the immune system of your pet. It significantly reduces the many unwanted effects that these parasites might have on your pet. It is rare for fleas to attack animals that are clean and healthy.

Ensuring that you pet has good health, a diet that has all the nutrients and has a good hygiene followed by regular physical exercise are very simple and inexpensive ways guaranteeing the well being of pets by keeping fleas away.

Traps could also be set to incarcerate and decrease the fleas in our homes. Soapy water placed where the living creatures are prone to be and adding a night light over the dish should do the work. These organisms get attracted to warm light so they will tend to get into the dish containing the soapy water. Being allergic to soapy water kills them

Vacuuming is an effective way to kill both adult fleas and their eggs. When carrying out this process, salt should be used. Its dehydrating effect leaves these creatures dead.Waste from the vacuumed area should be destroyed by burning to guarantee that fleas do not find their way back to the house.

Finally, diatomaceous which is manufactured from natural substances, ought to be applied on animals(their fur) or scattered in the areas fleas are likely to be found. This product is absolutely lethal to these creatures but is relatively less harmless not only to humans but pets as well.
