Tips In Finding Reliable Pet Sitters

By Juana Gamble

Check the background of the service provider. It is very important that you know the pet sitters to whom you will be leaving your beloved house animals. While you are gone, he will be the one to take good care of it. You must have trust for this person. He should be someone reliable.

You will only be leaving the animal to the caretaker for a little awhile. It could be the first time that he sees the animal and takes good care of it. If there are certain restrictions with food and practically anything else about the animal, make sure to inform the caretaker about it.

Leaving them with friends who do not like animals in the first place just does not add up. That would be impractical because how then someone who does not have affinity for these animals can take good care of them. They might not be willing to take them in the first place but may be agreed to do.

If your animal gets sick or there is something that needs you to be informed, then he knows how and where to reach you. This person could be a friend or a family member. One thing is for sure this is a person that you can trust for your animals. You cannot just leave your animals to anyone even he is a friend or a relative.

Another advantage for this is that these people know how to feed and love these animals since they too have their own. You would not leave with half of your mind worrying about the predicament of your animals. Leave the friend or family with enough of the food and sundries that the animals need.

They could ask money for it. It is up to you if you will agree on such a set up. If you trust this person that he would really use the money for its intended purpose, then you can do this. But if you are not comfortable at the thought, then do not.

They are only going to feed the animals with the food that you left for them. Do not let the friend or relative buy the food for your dog or cat or fish. Buy the food and other necessities of your animals before leaving them. It is the least that you can do for them.

This is if you know you can trust the person but then again, you would not leave your animals to people who cast a shadow of doubt in your mind. He can also phone you up to inform you that there is no food for the animals anymore and that it is time to replenish the stock. With this, you will have to leave your phone number to him so that when something is needed to be bought for the animals, he can reach you.

It is your way of saying thank you for taking care of these animals when you left. You can leave special instructions to the caretaker. Give him a list of the food that you buy for your animals. In case, the food runs out and you are still not home, he knows which food to buy and which brand as well.
